About SandeKat Studios

I'm Sande Kay, the artist behind SandeKat Studios. For over 40 years, I've been transforming broken, discarded, and overlooked materials into something worth keeping—from wire-wrapped sun catchers and resin ocean art to full carousel horse restorations.

My work is about second chances: for objects, for stories, and sometimes for people.

The Studio

SandeKat Studios is where broken bits get re-imagined and memories get preserved. Every piece is made by hand with intention, whether it's a memorial tree of life, a kinetic wave sculpture, or a custom commission that holds someone's story.

I've studied at Anna Maria College, Rhode Island College, RISD, and Pacifica Graduate Institute, and I've delivered large-scale commissioned work all across the country. But the heart of this studio isn't credentials—it's connection.

The Work

Nothing here is mass-produced or made for algorithms. Each sculpture, each wire-wrapped stone, each piece of art is placed with care and narrative intention. This is work for people looking for meaning, beauty, and transformation.

Currently Project: The Wave Project—a traveling kinetic sculpture and community treasure hunt.
